Centre for Climate Science and Policy Research organized several events at COP15 in Copenhagen 7-19 December 2009
Exhibition
Date: 10, 11, 15 & 16/12
Place: Hall H, Bella Center
For information please contact: tina.schmid.neset@liu.se
On December 10-16 researchers from the Centre for Climate Science and Policy Research (CSPR) at Linköping University will present results from the WorldView Project at COP 15 together with colleagues from the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) and the Norrköping Visualization Centre. During the presentation we will discuss sea level rise and effort sharing principles underpinning climate adaptation and mitigation scenarios. The presentation moves from the local to the global scale and is based on state of the art interactive visualization techniques and data sets from SMHI and CSPR research, as well as a number of emission scenario models (CAIT, C-Roads).
You will find us in the exhibit area, which is located in Hall H right after the entrance to the conference venue. We share our exhibition space with network partners from Resources for the Future in Washington who will present the Global Adaptation Atlas.
Visualizing climate change with focus on the Arctic environment

The seminar will be organised as an interactive discussion on the potentials and challenges of climate visualization, including several examples of ongoing visualization projects such as WorldView, ICE, Global Adaptation Atlas and Get Online. The participating researchers and climate experts from the CSPR, SMHI, Chalmers and Resources for the Future will present results and experiences from climate visualizations for decision theatres, pedagogic applications as well as political and public debates.
Research study
Date: 7-18/12
For information please contact: Mattias.hjerpe@liu.se
Dr Mattias Hjerpe and Professor Björn-Ola Linnér co-ordinate a series of surveys of participants at the UN Climate Conference, COP 15, in Copenhagen as a part of the Mistra climate policy programme, Clipore. This is the third year of the study and will be targeted at effort sharing principles and leadership on climate change in addition to participation of non-state and state actors in side events that were analysed at the Bali and Poznan conferences. This year 500 responses from COP participants, 80 responses from side event organisers and 400 responses from side event participants are expected. The survey study brings together researchers from Linköping University, Uppsala University, Gothenburg University, and the Swedish Environmental research Institute, IVL.
